Winthruster Key is a special key that can be used to open the door to enter Winthruster. It is given by the door guardian of Winthruster, Lollytart, in exchange for a Strange Key. Strange Keys are dropped by Strange Not-So-Stranger monsters in the Scream Cave minigame. It is also possible to receive this key without playing the minigame. Winthruster Key unlocks the final area of the Tube station on the world map, which is where all quest items are found. This key can be traded to other players, normally obtained through trade for items. Some time after the release of "Winthruster Key" it became possible to obtain more keys through another means of interaction within Winthruster. This updated method involves the use of a "Key Drive" which is given by Lollytart upon completion of her quest line. The Key Drive can be used to unlock any Winthruster door. Upon use, any door will become locked again immediately, requiring another Key Drive for subsequent attempts. Key Drives also have a chance to break each time they are used, reducing the player's max stock by 1.
Some players have expressed concern that this quest is too difficult for low level wizards to complete, or that it's reward is not worth the effort.
